China’s Chonging Jiangbei International Airport has taken delivery of a 52 metre Falcon FS 520C spider lift.

Mounted on twin sets of rubber tracks, the FS 520C features an eight section telescopic boom and six metre two section jib, providing up to 17 metres of outreach. The FS 520C is equipped with the new Falcon ‘Service Tool’ which allows remote monitoring of the unit for easy trouble shooting and diagnostics, while gathering full operating and tracking records. It is currently being used to clean and maintain the inside and outside of the airport.

FALCON LIFTS sales director Brian Falck Schmidt said: “The Falcon spider is the perfect tool to solve the interior maintenance jobs at Chonging Jiangbei Airport. The double jib allows the Falcon to reach into areas where other platforms have to give up. It can also climb the stairs and reach all the different levels. Due to the low ground pressure the Falcon spider is capable to drive on sensitive floorings even on marble and tiles which was one of the reasons why it was chosen.”
